June marks the 24th national "Workplace Safety Month" in China. To enhance employees' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities through competition-driven learning and training, on June 26, the Ningbo Qianwan New Area Trade Union organized the Workplace Safety Skills Competition 2025. Forty-eight participants from 16 enterprises, including the Fotile Kitchen Appliances, the Jirun Auto Parts, and the Cooper (Ningbo) Electrical Co., Ltd., competed fiercely at the Qianwan Safety Education and Training Center.
The competition focused on core workplace safety competencies through four segments: theoretical exams, on-site hazard identification, proper use of safety equipment, and single-person CPR operations, comprehensively evaluating participants' knowledge and practical skills. A 100-point scoring system was adopted: 30% each for theory and hazard identification, 20% each for equipment usage and CPR. Judges rigorously assessed operational standards, response speed, and hazard detection accuracy.
The venue buzzed with intensity as competitors, clad in full protective gear, demonstrated focus and composure. During written tests, they deliberated calmly; in practical drills, from selecting safety gear to performing time-sensitive CPR, all showcased solid expertise and professionalism.
"Events align perfectly with frontline needs. CPR and hazard detection are lifesaving skills," remarked one contestant. After fierce competition, 11 winners emerged, recognized for their theoretical mastery, standardized operations, and steady performance.
"The competition provides a skill-exchange platform, embedding safety knowledge through competitive learning to strengthen emergency preparedness," stated a Trade Union official. Moving forward, the Union will advance the "training + competition + incentives" model to strengthen talent development, supporting Qianwan New Area's high-quality growth.
